Witness Statements by a Private Investigator – How They Differ From Depositions
We do a ton of witness statements over here at C. Jackson Investigations. So many in fact, I am almost certain we have heard it all. Then again, as soon as I write these words, something I have never seen will present itself and show nothing is impossible. We have produced some amazing results due to our experience and professionalism. Sometimes we get feedback from our attorney clients asking us why we did not lead the witness during our questioning. This is a fair question given the methodology of direct and cross examinations from the attorney’s point of view, especially in a deposition type setting.
However, private investigators are trained to seek the facts and only the facts. We strive to be impartial in our fact finding so as to present both the good and bad for our clients. I like to say, it is better to know up front versus finding out in trial. That said, if you have a line of questions or a style in which you would like us follow for a particular witness, provide us a list of questions. We are more than happy to work with you to get the answers you need in the manner and method best suited for your case. We want to do what we can to ensure you are a success and win your cases.
